101 Things
FINE. I’ll freaking do this just so I don’t have to worry about it anymore! It seems like every person has one and everyone is tagging me on Facebook to do it. The pressure is finally getting to me.
Except it might take me some time to finish…..I think I’m up to 30 50 62. I‘m not entirely sure there are a 101 things about me. Ooooh wait, I’m going to use that as #1.
1. I’m not entirely sure there are a 101 things to know about me. Or rather, I’m not even sure I know 101 things about me…
2. I truly believe my cat understands what I’m saying most of the time–and vice versa– and get mildly annoyed in the times when we don’t.
3. If I had to choose between Cheese and Chocolate to live without for the rest of my life, I think the decision would drive me mad. I can’t even handle thinking about the possibility of having to choose.
4. I love Barbie and would totally still play with them if it was socially acceptable. Oh wait, I used to be a visual manager–it was like Barbies for adults.
5. I have a huge obsession with the number 5.
6. I love Dawson’s Creek and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I even watch Fringe just because of Joshua Jackson.
7. I’ve had my own McDreamy and a love story worthy of Grey’s Anatomy. It did not end like Mer-Der.
8. I tried to count how many books I currently own. I stopped after I reached 300. Most of them I’ve read more than three times.
9. Besides becoming a princess, my dream is to open a book store on Cape Cod—like the one in You’ve Got Mail.
10. I really have to think for a while when someone asks me how many brothers and sisters I have. It’s very complicated.
11. I am closer in age (and mentality and coolness factor) to my nieces and nephews than I am to my brothers and sisters.
12. Cooking relaxes me, I love it and I’m really good at it—-but I hate to bake.
13. I kill plants.
14. I eat a banana every day, even though I don’t really like them.
15. To see Chris Daughtry in concert I have: driven to Ft Myers, driven 10hrs to & from Tallahassee in the same day—TWICE, and also flew to NY. Laugh all you want, I met him.
15a. So far…to see David Cook in concert…. I have driven 6 hours roundtrip to Gainesville and waited outside the bus until 2am hoping to see him.
16. The only things I miss about NY are my: Friends, Fam, and the Fall. And Ralph’s Chicken Francaise.
17.Less than a year ago I didn’t think I was a “laptop girl” but now I can’t imagine my life without mine.
18. I live alone, have 2.5 bathrooms in my townhouse and have begun to think that’s normal.
18a. I also try to use all 3 every day.
19. I know that I’ve had enough to drink when I start getting really good at darts. I can throw bulls-eye after bulls-eye!
20. I really believe that when you are at your worst, you should look your best.
21. I have serious committment issues when it comes to putting pictures into a picture frame. I have no idea why but it can take months years.
22. In the last year I have reconnected with my best friends and great loves from every stage of my life. I thought it was cool until I had a conversation with 3 ex-loves in one day. Then it was just disturbing.
23. I believe in fairy tales, happily ever afters, fortune cookies, horoscopes, romance, Prince Charming, love at first sight, dreams, romance novels and movies—and am a little scared of people that don’t.
24. I hate getting flowers.
25. <—-is the age when I finally took my road test & got my license.
26. Hello, my name is Jennifer and I’m a Band-Aid-aholic. It’s a very rare and often mis-understood addiction. I’ve tried to cut back. I’ve tried to use just one. It’s not like I need to use the band-aids. I don’t think about them every day or anything. It’s just that once I have to put one on, I feel compelled to add more….It’s a slippery slope. I wouldn’t call it an intervention….but I’ve actually had band-aids taken away from me before. My mother was the only one to understand my addiction and used to buy me special special Disney Princess band-aids for my Christmas stocking. (Please note, I was 25, not 5 years old when this happened….)
27. I used to hate wine but now I’m completely addicted to Reisling.
28. I’ve read the Harry Potter Series in it’s entirety three times. Books 1-6 I’ve read at least 6 times. I’ve seen all the movies but only like 1 & 2, yet get super excited every time another one is released.
29. I’m still not over the Brad-Jen breakup.
30. I own the books that the new fall TV show “The Vampire Diaries“ is based on, and have since L.J. Smith’s original publication in 1999.
31. I know that Jim Carrey’s real launch into comedic stardom began with Once Bitten in 1985. I watched the movie for the first time on USA. I thought I was the only one who knew of this movie until my old roomie talked bout it one day. We became BFFs for life after that moment.
32. Despite my vampire fetish, I :
- Am terrified of blood and gore and therefore have not watched most vampire movies.
- Am the only person in the world that hasn’t seen or read the Twilight Series yet. I have however re-read The Last Vampire series by RL Stine recently. It Rocks.
33. I think there are two kinds of people in the world: people who read in the bathroom and those who don’t. The one’s that don’t scare the crap out me (pun not totally intentional…..) and they have no idea what they are missing!
34. I believe “the most useless day is one in which we have not laughed.”
35. It would terrify you if I confessed how often I wash my hair.
36. I have a closet just for shoes. And one just for purses. And a car full of both.
37. Yes, people, there is a Santa Claus. I met him when I was five. He came to my bedroom, woke me up and gave me a mini-CareBear. I have pictures.
38. Once you get me out of bed, I’m perfectly pleasant and awake. I just don’t advice being the person who has to try to get me out of bed.
39. Anyone else love when you accidentally get a little bit of Elmer’s glue on your hands and you get to peel it off? Ever then dump more on your hands so you have more to peel off?
40. Speaking of glue…. I really miss the smell of rubber cement. That stuff is ca-razy!
41. I also love the smell of gasoline.
42. I have an internal GPS system in my body and rarely get lost. But when I do, it’s a doozy…..
43. I would definitely much rather give than to receive. I love picking out perfect gifts for others but truly hate getting presents. Always have to do the fake “oh, wow, thanks! I love it! It’s perfect” when deep inside my heart is sinking and I’m thinking….”wow, no one in this world knows me at all…..”
44. Perhaps if I filled more of these out and forwarded them to my friends, #43 would no longer be a problem…. hmmm
45. I have best friends in three states and one in heaven.
46. I still worship Katie Holmes. She’s my age—and I don’t care if he is now crazy—what girl my age didn’t grow up dreaming about marrying Tom Cruise, and she did it! Plus she had a real romance with Josh Jackson. And she’s pretty
47. Wish I could be a bitch and not worry so much about hurting other people’s feelings all the time.
48. I’m 75% Italian and not a fan of red sauce.
49. I lived with someone (parents, sorority chicks, roomies…) for 29 years and was terrified of living alone.
50. Now I love living alone so much I fear I may never get married because I don’t want to share my space.
51. Yes, I said sorority chicks. And we were all hot. And the best group of true friends and sisters that a girl could ask for.
52. I’m not entirely sure I want to get married and have kids anymore. Especially in today’s world.
53. If I do have kids, I will make them watch the first season of the original Beverly Hills, 90210 as soon as they hit adolescance because it teaches seriously, everything. With a nice wholesome feel to it.
54. Bridezillas scares the beejeezus out of me yet I find myself watching it in horrified fascination. Mostly because my best friend will definitely be one. I pray daily that I will still be living in FL and she will still in NY when she gets engaged….
55. I never dreamt of my wedding day, the dress, the color scheme, or the ring.
55a. That said, I marvel at Platinum Weddings—-and even the regular weddings of all my friends—-and love the fantasy. But I know it’s just not me.
56. I still know the lyrics to every single song Here and could probably tell you the exact order they played on the cassette tape (and not just because the bright yellow cassette is currently somewhere in my house). And I’m not afraid to admit it. In fact, I’m pretty damn proud of it. (For other addicts: Starlite, Rainbow Brite. Paint a Rainbow, The First Part of Friendship is Friends, In the Twink of an Eye, Prismatism, A Color Symphony (I even still know when to clap….) The Pits and of course, Rainbow Land)
57. Totally don’t get the cartoons of today but still think all the classics from my childhood are badass!!!!!!!!
58. “Given a cape and a tiara, I’m fairly certain I could save the world”
59. I’m a member of the Voltron, Defenders of the Universe Fan Club and our mission was to get Voltron released on DVD.
60. I am baffled as to why “Jon & Kate + 8″ is a show, especially a show with a cult-like following.
..will
….fill
………..in
…………….soon
99. I still don’t really get Twitter but I pretend I do, hoping no one notices.
100. A year ago if someone asked me who is the person I couldn’t live without, I would have said my mother….. But somehow, I’m still alive.
101. If someone had told me last year that I would give everything up to start my own Sports for Girls website, I would have thought they were insane.
